I printed a batch of airplanes for co-workers. I spent a while trying to optimize the size without increasing printing time too much. Eventually I pitched it up 15 degrees and turned it diagonally. Here’s an earlier slice:

Epoxy drip catchers

I had a problem with resin and hardener dripping onto my workbench resin drippage I solved it with an overengineered dripcatcher

3d printed pencil holders

I printed some hex-grid pencil holders to challenge myself in CAD. I got it done but I still don’t know of a great way to model these. The end result hot off the printer

I made my own extruder windmill based on this post from Prusa I modeled it in Fusion 360 and printed on a Prusa Mk3s

Multi-material printing

I helped put together the MMU2s for the work printer. It is very painful and flaky and I wasn’t able to get consistent results. The dream is noble but hobby-level tech is not there yet. Doorstop

My lockdown office has a door to the deck which I like to leave open when the weather’s nice. The doors were banging around in the wind, and since you can’t get doorstops or toiletpaper during lockdown I made my own. They work OK.

This was purely a CAD challenge to myself. It is an efficient way to store paint, but not an efficient use of time.

Arsch mit ohren

There is a German expression “Arsh mit Ohren” which means “ass with ears”. I suppose it roughtly maps to “butthead”.
